Over the last two short weeks, we have seen Officer's injured after being attacked. There appears to be an upsurge on attacks of Officers, we had one stabbed and one dragged down stairs. There have also been auto related incidents involving officers. These incidents are the ones currently being reported on. We know we encounter bad situations daily across the city, to which the news does not often get a hold of.

Officers be very careful out there. Those low promoted stat numbers the city continues to pump out, means little to your over all safety.

This is also the first time, we have ever seen, the media print anything about our manpower shortages. City has not decided if they will appeal the decision. Our opinion, it would be a waste of money for the city to try and fight this ruling.

However, it is clear that the [federal act] does not authorize the city to balance those challenging concerns on the backs of police personnel by awarding them compensatory time in lieu of cash payments for overtime work, then depriving them of the ability to use that compensatory time for reasons not permitted by the statute."

Fraternal Order of Police President Mark Donahue hailed the ruling as a victory for rank-and-file officers who give the city weeks', even months' notice to attend family events, only to be refused because the city says it's "short" police personnel.

Manpower shortages in Chicago's 25 police districts were already a focal point in police contract negotiations.

TASER DEATH CLAIM OFFENDER 24 ORDER OF PROTECTION ARRESTS

Yesterday, we wrote about Geffery Johnson a 42 year old who was also a frequent drug user. When the Police responded to the mothers call, Geffery not wanting to go to jail, began fighting with the police to the point of having to be tased in order to be subdued. Geffery was later pronounced dead and the Medical Examiner's findings are not complete.

Now comes a further reality check. Geffery's violent, destructive behaviour and erratic conduct was of no surprise, to either his mother lulu or his family. As it turns out, his family was so intimidated by Geffery, that they had already obtained an Order Of Protection against him, in order to keep him away from them and their residence's. Not only was Geffery ready and prepared to fight the police, he was also in violation of his order of protection.

Here's the ticker: Seems the family including mom had to call the police on Geffery, nearly 24 times in the past, for violating the same order of protection and intimidating them. Who was at fault, not the police. We also lay odds, that mom and the family members also protected under the Court Order, were not abiding by their own order of protection. Nearly 24 times, Police were required to respond to moms 911 urgent protective order violation calls. So how does mom go about handling her Court Order? Apparently, by allowing Geffery back into their home continually. She then would turn it around by calling and using the Police just to get Geffery out. That is, when he would become once again, too violent and destructive, for even them to handle.

This is what's referred to as, Abuse of Police service and Court Orders. It also occurs day in and day out. Mom now sobs out to the media, while add-libbing her designed drama. What she and her family really desire, is to find fault with the end results, while at the same time attempting to make cash, off her now deceased unruly son she pleaded protection from... by pointing her finger at the officer's and by filing a lawsuit?

In our opinion. This lawsuit should not be paid out! The officer's should not be made the scape goats, for neither her or her families continual abuse of the system. Each and every time the officer's had to respond, they were placed in further danger by her abusive and urgent 911 calls. An Order of Protection she plead for and to which she swore, she and her family so desperately needed. A court Order for protection, for her and the family from her violent drug addicted son. To which, she just happened to swear to in a Court of Law.

MAYOR DALEY TELLS FIREFIGHTERS GET A JOB IN OAK LAWN ILLINOIS

"You can go out and get another job,” Daley said. “Go out and get a job on the fire department in Oak Lawn."

Daley goes off on Firefighters and says he's not begging them to be Firefighters! Let them go get another job. Perfect example of the little value in the Daley administration for his own Safety Officers.

There you have it, Daley's true lack of support for his Firefighters which is now self evident, and its all over a simple contract disagreement but he displays another side to himself. The one we know so well and the one side few others rarely ever get to see. Daley apparently feels Firefighters value is of so little worth, that their simple and understandable contract requests caused him to ignite via media and lash unfairly out. Media cbs2chicago calls it contract talks and the Mayor testy. We call it deplorable, unacceptable and highly insulting.

Why our moral is bottomed out. Maybe plenty of his Safety workers will take him up on the insult. Were sure there are plenty of towns and states who would love to have all of our experience, value and appreciate our worth.

CHICAGO POLICE DOMESTIC CALLS DANGEROUS FOR POLICE

This is a typical domestic call with a tragic ending but whose fault is it really? A family member calls police for assistance because one of their family members are completely out of control. We respond, the offender then puts up a fight and a struggle, we need to subdue for every one's safety and in the end. The caller this time being mom, which it often is. Now wants to turn the tables back and find fault with the police for the end result.

Day in day out, if these individuals can't control their own and they need the police to rush to their homes to aid them. Do they really think, the offending party isn't going to go off even further by turning the attack onto the officer's, just to avoid going to jail. Their out of control and that's why the police were called in the first place. Not everyone, who has freely chosen to be stoned out of their minds can be talked down. This is a nonsense story, tragic? Yes, but a reality none the less and mom knows very well, she lost all control of her grown 42-year-old son years ago. We try avoiding cursing on the blog as well but sometimes you jut have to say,
"Damned If You Do and Damned If You don't!"
This lawsuit and we know its coming, SHOULD NOT BE PAID OUT!

"Chicago Police executed my son in cold blood," Johnson's mother, Lula Johnson, said through tears. This police action was not in cold blood! Next in line to holler may very well be? You guessed, Sharpton.

Police said they responded to a call from Johnson's mother around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, and that officers tried to arrest Johnson because he had allegedly damaged property at the home and was using drugs. Why were the police called, Suntimes?

Johnson "became really combative with police and actually struck out at police," Assistant Deputy Supt. Dean Andrews said. "Police were unable to calm him down." Even after being tased he, "pulled the Taser prongs from his body ... and lunged at police again."

Homicide, Rainbow Park and Beach, in the 2800 block of East 76th Street. Chicago, IL.

An 18-year-old man was found fatally shot this morning at a Southeast Side beach, Chicago police said, the Police found him lying on the beach the death is a homicide investigation. We have not been to this beach as an outing, since our early teen years and this story tells why.

He was shot in the head behind an ear.

LOS ANGELES SHERIFF BACA BLOCKS UNION WEBSITE

Sheriff Lee Baca has blocked access from hundreds of department computers to the website of the union that represents his deputies and which has been critical of the sheriff's management.

The website blockade comes as the sheriff's relationship with the Assn. for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs has become increasingly tense. In recent weeks, union President Steve Remige has repeatedly assailed Baca's efforts to release heiress Paris Hilton from jail, a decision that was overturned by a judge. The union also released a survey that showed a vast majority of deputies are unhappy with the way Baca is managing the department.

Remige said Baca's decision to block access to the website was spiteful and petty and has hampered deputies' ability to get information about benefits, overtime and other issues. He said access was cut off a few months ago, and he's been unable to get Baca to lift the block.

JUDGE ORDERS DURKIN 911 TAPES PRESERVED

We are not going to get into a personal discussion of what happened at Durkin Park.

We agree, manpower is turned upside down and calls are backed up. We also feel manpower is not handled properly, a topic which is not new but only worse. We have a manpower shortage and we feel the department only puts a band aid on the issue. Nor do we understand why actual manpower numbers are not being utilized. Its not a secret, so whats the deal? Officer's get stacks of calls now, there was a time when you were down on a job it meant just that, down. This was prior to OEMC going civilian and taken outside of the police department and it was also prior to 311. Were like chickens with our heads cut off. OEMC handles high volume calls as does apparently 311. None of us are magicians. Whose the charlatan behind the curtain, and why are we, always the fall guys?

CHICAGO SUNTIMES SLANTS STORY AGAINST CHICAGO 911 OPERATOR

Why is this complaint even a news topic? Oh Fran? Kevin Smith is the media go to man at OEMC.

Brigitte Biver called 311 about 9 p.m. on July 4 to report illegal fireworks so deafening that they sounded like they were exploding right over her Norwood Park home.
When Biver was transferred to Chicago's 911 emergency center, she thought she would get an even quicker response. Instead, all she got was laughter -- hysterical laughter.

Briggitte then tries to grasp at straws by saying this, "She didn't know what I was calling about. Somebody could have been having a heart attack here. If it had been a life-or-death situation where seconds count, that's very dangerous. It's highly unprofessional in any setting," Biver said. We know it was not a life-or-death call and so do you and we don't really know the full story only the Suntimes slant. What we do know, is the Suntimes should have reflected the over whelming calls 911 was getting and what was really being done in Norwood Park.

This is just another example today, of slanted media reporting. Shame on Fran and the Suntimes family group.

Here is Smith's comment at the end. "Fireworks are illegal and they are dangerous. We received thousands of calls -- as we should have," Smith said. Our comment: Were sure the 911 operator handled their massive call volume as well.

'HELLO? HELLO?' Fireworks complaint gets no response, Is this not the the same Norwood Park? DID it not get a response and a big one at that? You be the judge. Read the below story printed in the same paper the very same day as Frans story ran. WOW!

Illegal fireworks fizzled, cops say
July 12, 2007 By ALAN SCHMIDT Staff Writer, this story from the Suntimes also:
There were hundreds of people wrapped around a large open area at Hiawatha Park July 4, anticipating what police said was going to be a large-scale illegal fireworks display.
What they got instead was a view of a patrol car that was hastily stationed in the middle of the park, 8029 W. Forest Preserve Drive, to discourage anyone from lighting the first fuse.

It was all part of an effort put together by Jefferson Park (16th) District Cmdr. Ralph Price to put a stop to some major, informal fireworks shows before they started. In the weeks leading up to Independence Day, Price, along with district personnel, put together a priority list of the "hot spots" that were the sites of previous pyrotechnic extravaganzas. Price also met with school principals and Chicago Park District staff to ask for their support. The large, open spaces needed for many of the less-than-clandestine shows can be found on the grounds of the district's 52 schools and 37 parks.

Then added to the story is this:
Price joined a 15-member team of officers whose sole job was to keep tabs on each of the hot spots and respond to fireworks-related calls. He said officers squelched what had become an annual event with fireworks followed by vandalism of school property at Canty School, 3740 N. Panama Ave. Some of the other schools police were paying attention to were Beaubien, Dever, Edison Regional Gifted Center, Norwood Park, Onahan and Taft High School.

Now the important part of this real story:
Price said officers made several trips there in response to calls to 911. He admitted that curbing the enthusiasm people have for fireworks, whether they are illegal or not, is a "daunting task."

He said he was happy to report that there were no major illegal fireworks displays, no fireworks-related injuries, no fires caused by fireworks and no violence related to fireworks. Congratulations 911 and District Officer's, job well done!

CHICAGO POLICE FICTION OR FACT JEFFERSON TAP

The reason we have not spoken on the Jefferson Tap incident is reflective in the blog article, CHICAGO POLICE RECORDS NOW ON CHOPPING BLOCK. In that article we discussed the courts theory that the public is sophisticated enough to determine fact from fiction but how is that possible when the facts and a deeper slant for fiction are guaranteed by the main stream media? As we have once again seen by the media.

Those of you who say, "here we go again, see it's just like Cops to protect other cops." No, it's really biased media were currently in-battled with. As we read through the various slants in reporting on the very late night bar ruckus. We see phrases like, the tape is evidence against the Officer's, lets use the example's of the outside car incident and the cell phone. While the tape will be utilized during trial. What the public naturally finds hard to differentiate from, is the word evidence and utilizing the tape AS evidence. Yes, there is a difference in perception in what the public is getting in the way of fact and fiction, through our main stream media and their style of reporting, example again re-running poor quality tapes over and over.

The tape was placed into evidence and will be utilized during the hearing as a portion of the evidence by both attorney's but it does not just stop just at the tape. There will be hours and hours of testimony which will offer a spectrum of insight as to what occurred and this will come out only during the trial. The media tape is for ratings specifically. It's also being utilized for the purpose of embarrassing the city, liability aka money. Police are always a hot frenzy topic for the media whether their off or on duty, especially if a finger can be pointed in an attempt to show culpability. Were not dismissing either the alleged officer's or the the alleged victims nor their alleged actions. Nor will we point finger's. Were just like you and were seeing and reading through the current media's version.

Lack of good journalistic reporting does not just stop with Police stories, it permeates throughout all reporting these days. Think about it, have you ever asked yourself. What's wrong with the media, ever?

As to supporting the Officer's, the answer is simply yes, because they are one of us and their innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Were not that court of law, none of us are. Were no different than the alleged victims families who will also stand by and support their family members. Our internal family relationships can be just as complex as yours.

311 CHICAGO POLICE BOSS WANTS CALLS

Nice try but sorry boss, were unable to find anyone willing to make that call. Their reasons are, knowledge and trusting in the systems checks and balances, of those faded words called fairness and trust. Matter of fact the actual view happens to be, (we would be bounced through the system into a misery oblivion, never to return from whence we came.)

Were not sure what part of the blog article had misinformation, was it Crime Stoppers, Cues, 311 ARS and Civilians sides, stats, or was it OEMC detail. Could so many Officer's really be wrong? We covered a lot in the article.

IMMIGRATION NIGHTMARE CAUSES DEATH OF 13 YEAR OLD CHILD

Some of you may call our postings on illegal aliens and immigration over the top but this story is only one of many never reported and it demonstrates were on target. The system isn't so much as broken as the laws and law enforcement needs to be strengthened and enforced immediately. What if this was your family member? Were fed up with the Safe Sanctuary city card being played wild and at what costs. Don't ask don't tell policy for Police and city employee's. This story is now all over the Internet. When is enough enough?

ICE has employees who screen cases for immigration violations at the Criminal Courts Building, but they are on duty only during business hours.

CHICAGO ELMWOOD PARK COUPLE DISCOVERED HUNG IN CHICAGO

Chicago Police are investigating the death of an Elmwood Park couple found hanging in a Chicago basement on Monday.

Police responded to the 3200 block of West Fullerton Avenue about 5:40 p.m. nbc5.com Upon arrival, police discovered two bodies, according to police news affairs officer Hector Alfaro. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said the bodies were found in a basement where one of the victims worked at 3247 W. Fullerton Ave.
