GOP FORCING IMMIGRATION VOTE! HERE WE GO

In the Senate, a group of mostly conservative Republicans last week unveiled a package of legislation to crack down on illegal immigration and secure the border. They, too, said they would use procedural tactics to get Democrats on the record on the volatile immigration issue.

Democrats are trying to turn the tables, hoping that Republicans' efforts to push get-tough immigration measures will hurt McCain with Hispanic voters and independents, two groups that have supported him in the past.

In a letter to McCain last week, Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., called on the Arizonan to reject the GOP leaders' plans, calling them "draconian and divisive."
"Such a rejection will let this nation's 44 million Latinos know that demonizing them for political purposes will not be tolerated and that the more hateful rhetoric in the immigration debate has no place in our country's civic discourse," Menendez wrote

What's so hateful about securing our own Borders and not agreeing to yet another flood of amnesty for illegals, who are already benefiting from our lax laws which are barely enforced and at our expense? After all, just study up on Mexico's tuff immigration laws which also includes non-meddling in their governmental affairs and then ask yourself. Why were the ones actually being demonized, simply because we also want and need for our own Immigration and Border laws to be enforced?

California authorities have sought businessman Norman Hsu for 15 years. Since 2004, he has carved out a place of honor raising cash for such candidates as Hillary Rodham Clinton. Official “HillRaiser’’ Norman Hsu has been a fugitive from the law since the early 1990s when he accepted a three-year prison sentence in California for grand theft but instead disappeared. Hsu received the jail time for cheating investors out of
$1 million to purportedly operate a business that never existed.

In the years that he has avoided the law Hsu has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for top Democrats, including California Senator Dianne Feinstein, Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy, Illinois Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama and, of course Clinton. In fact, to earn the coveted title of “HillRaiser” Hsu promised to raise at least $100,000 for her presidential campaign.

Although Hsu is wanted by California authorities and he is officially a fugitive in the state, the businessman hasn’t exactly been hiding. He has kept a high public profile, participating in big Democratic fundraisers at fancy venues and allowing the photos to be posted on political web sites.

This isn’t the first big Clinton donor who is a fugitive from the law. A wealthy Pakistani businessman who funneled thousands of dollars in illegal contributions to her campaign actually appears on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s most wanted list.

Abdul Rehman Jinnah lived in Southern California and fled the country after federal prosecutors charged him with conspiracy and illegal campaign contributions to various Democratic senators. Not surprisingly, Clinton and her fellow Democrats—including California Senator Barbara Boxer--said they had no idea that their lucrative donor was violating the law.
