CITY WINS FIRST ROUND WITH U.S. HOMELAND SECURITY

WOULD YOU FEEL SAFE LIVING IN CHICAGO
IN AN EMERGENCY?

At least that is the way we see it, Homeland will continue to provide the grants and the city will continue to do what this city does. Chicago and New York already get hefty grants and we don't see this changing.

What tickled us is Trotter saying how can they determine after a few hours we don't match up, well we guess the same way the drill was graded in a few hours with prior passing grades. They giveth they taketh away. One thing is true the FCC bandwidth issue is on target and waiting till 2009 eventually rolls around makes no sense. Bandwidth has been a hot topic for more years than we care to remember but there are plenty of OEMC inter operational problems as well which can be easily changed in the meantime. That is if there was a true desire to change with genuine oversight put into place.

Apparently OEMC needs Police Command back, in other words they need a progressive hands on Police Commander who listens to the experience of the workers. Yeah we know were dreaming but its an apparent reality. OEMC is a civilian center run like a para military organization with both civilians and police present and virtually no Police management oversight. A lot of complaints come out of OEMC, disorganization, too many boss's with haphazard directions and over lapping memos which continually change at a drop of a whim. Operational procedures are disregarded then over read causing mass confusion and frustration for the workers orchestrated by those in or not in control at any given moment. Equipment at both 311 sistered to OEMC is in ill repair with little maintenance or staff for repairs. This is info we have heard over and over. Search the other blogs and you will see it peering out at you. Yes some complain just to complain but the majority can't all be wrong. Complaints about security within and at out of OEMC is another topic lacking direction and healthy oversight apparently. There are cameras within OEMC from what we have been told and a few of the interior cameras are controlled or should be controlled by police security assigned on three watches and these posts are to be manned at all times this is a primary security issue. There are said to be serious exterior issues as well with lack of drills and proper training. Were stopping at this point because we have become concerned about OEMC's well being which affects the entire city and beyond. Since we have been informed OEMC is fully aware of their mismanagement and in attention there is nothing further to be said.

If the city with all the high paid boss's can't even clean up basic everyday work and maintenance issues, how on earth can they lay claim their a State of Art facility and with grand procedures in place. Yeah maybe their building design but there are even complaints about the stale recycled air and bugs. The operation floor is described like a dark tomb at all hours and a high pressured poorly managed one at that. From the sounds of this we may be reporting more on OEMC progress or lack of at a later date.
