• Feb. 27 (Tues.) The mayoral primary in Chicago. All candidates, including incumbent Democratic Mayor Richard M. Daley, will run on the same ballot. Any candidate who receives a majority vote will be deemed the outright winner. If that does not occur, a runoff between the top two vote-getters will be held April 3.
