COMED IS PLANNING TO BACK DOOR US IN 2010

YA JUST GOTTA LOVE UM!

The average increase for ComEd customers will be 22 percent, meaning a $100 electric bill would go up $22, although additional increases to various other charges will likely tack on a couple more dollars.
The plan approved Wednesday gives customers the choice of opting for three years worth of smaller increases. Under this plan, ComEd customers’ rates would increase up to 10 percent in 2007, followed by additional increases in 2008 and 2009.

However, beginning in 2010, ComEd also gets to start billing those customers to make up the previous discounts, plus interest of 3.25 percent.
Customers will be mailed enrollment forms and the deadline to sign up is Aug. 22, 2007. Customers can drop out at any time but will have to immediately pay the difference between the actual rates and what they’d been paying under the phase-in planhttp://www.dailyherald.com/business/story.asp?id=262416
