ITS ABOUT TIME LOCAL GOVERMENT AND CABLE MONOPOLY

There is no guarantee of lower prices with competitors coming in but it would be advisable! Who is not fed up with COMCAST and their horrible customer service and high rates. (WOW) Wide Open West fared a bit better with their 18 mth to 2 yr. rate guarantees and award but their slipping and their also not available on a wide scale, their prices have also sored. Why is it the more subscriber's these companies have they end up kicking up the cost back onto the customers back while their profits soar. Cable carriers are similar to the Cell Phone industry with their problematic customer service, connection problems and high priced plans. We can thank local Governments wheeling and dealing for making Customer Service, appreciation and value a thing of the past.

BY ASSOCIATED PRESSWASHINGTON---- A sharply divided Federal Communications Commission voted 3-2 along partisan lines Wednesday to impose new measures meant to ensure that local governments do not block new competitors from entering the cable television market.
FCC Chairman Kevin Martin also released a new pricing report that showed in 2004, rates for basic and expanded cable, which account for about 84 percent of subscribers, rose 5.2 percent. Over a 10-year period, rates had increased a total of 93 percent, the report said.
