Chicago tops 2005 homicide total
Four-year decline reverses
December 22, 2006 - Police say the number of homicides so far this year in Chicago have surpassed last year's total.
The increase reverses a four-year decline.
As of yesterday, there were 452 murders in Chicago. That's up three-point-three percent from last year's total of 449.
