This apparent case of road rage unfolded about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Randolph Street and Columbus Drive, police news affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
A driver turning onto eastbound Randolph honked his horn at Kevin Rogers, a former police officer who is now a lawyer, according to police and Rogers’ family.
A witness told police that Rogers slapped a side window on the car. The driver stopped, jumped out of his 2000 Volkswagen Golf with a .380-caliber semiautomatic weapon, hit Rogers with the gun and drove away.
